  ABOUT THIS STATION

i 101

i Rockin' 101 was born because no commercial radio station in St. Cloud or the surrounding area was playing true modern rock as some stations claim to.  We'll leave that alone for now.

i Rockin' 101 is a unique station that crosses the line of many musical genres that even some modern rockers left untouched until now.   Our goal is to provide you a unique mix of rock programming including some of the best rock, alternative, metal and Minnesota's best local bands and indie music.  You will hear everything from alternative favorites (The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Violent Femmes), Punk (The Clash, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Pennywise), Metal (Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage), Rap (Eminem, Kanye West, Run DMC, Public Enemy), Brit Pop (Coldplay, Radiohead, Stone Roses, Muse) Minnesota bands (Gingerjake, Down & Above, White Light Riot, Motion City Soundtrack) and a wide variety of indie and modern rock.

We're always looking for more music and bands to expand our playlist and checking out live performances of new and upcoming bands like most true music fans.  Let us know of something cool and we'll share it with the rest of the i Rockin' 101 audience.  If you don't hear your favorite bands we DO want to know about it.  Please enjoy i Rockin' 101.  We look forward to providing you that unique radio experience.

Remember you can listen wherever you are as long as you have a computer and an internet connection.

FAR FROM FALLING

Local Spotlight

Minnesota's Far From Falling recently replaced their lead singer with local phenom Harley Wood (formerly of Sunshine Behavior). The coupling of these two have caused a widespread buzz throughout the scene even prior to their first live show together.

The current FFF disc has been picked up by 30 Best Buy stores in the region which was supported by an In-Store acoustic session with the new Far From Falling on Nov. 29th. The first plugged-in, headlining shows at Trocaderos (01/09/09) and at the Fineline (02/13/09) in Minneapolis literally blew the eager fans away with new songs, a killer choreographed light show, and a rowdy 300+ in attendance at both.

They are currently set to release their  debut EP "The Weight of it All."
